Craigslist in violation of the law?

If pimping and pandering are illegal, then why was Craigslist allowed to act as one? They were charging $10 for ads posted in the Adult Services section which exclusively caters to men looking for prostitutes, and $5 for reposts. Procuring prostitutes for clients and taking a cut.. Were they basically pimping prostitutes through Craigslist?
